Jesus stands at the door of your heart and knocks. Will you let him in? Will you dare to change your direction? Will you be ready to give up everything to Jesus? Will you allow Him to totally disrupt and rearrange your path and your life?
Jesus, Himself, said that He is the Way. When you allow Jesus to enter your heart, you become a dead man. We are crucified with Christ, nevertheless the life we live now is not our own, but it is lived by faith in Jesus. You give up all rights. Jesus is sovereign, and we are not. We are to set Him on high as the chief cornerstone in our lives.
I remember the story of a man with large, empty fish aquarium. The man had some large rocks, smaller pebbles, and some very fine sand to fill this aquarium. In order to get fit everything into the aquarium, the larger rocks had to go in first, followed by the smaller pebbles, and finally the sand. The point of the story is that we need to focus on the big, important things in our lives. Jesus will becomes the biggest rock in your life, if you let Him! It is imperative that you place Him first in everything. There are Christians who fail to do this everyday! They pay dearly for it. How do they pay? Ask them about their marriages, their children, their jobs, their lives, and the troubles that fill up their lives like sand.
The spend too much time focusing on the little things in life, and not enough time focusing on the big things. They spend little to no time alone and quiet with God.
When you find time to be alone and quiet, you can sense God’s presence. God will speak to you in a voice you can understand. I have found God speaks to me through scriptures, songs, poems, books, or even other people. I know His voice when I hear it.
I am not trying to discourage your choice to follow Jesus. I want you to make a voluntary, intelligent decision and understand the cost. Jesus spoke about building with out taking into consideration the cost to build a home.
Now we get to the good part. There is no drug, house, store, clothes, boy or girl that comes close to a relationship with Jesus. Jesus is amazing. God the Father loved you so much that He sent Jesus, His only begotten son, that you could become a son or daughter in the Kingdom. Now, God’s Kingdom is not an earthly Kingdom. This Kingdom will last forever and forever. Did you realize that you will live forever and ever too? There are two choices for living accommodations, one, an eternity spent in Hell, which is not good, or an eternity spent in Heaven with Jesus, very good.
A relationship with Jesus has benefits. Those benefits include, that He will stick with you and never leave you. He is closer than a brother. He will have His angels guard you in all your ways. If you seek Him first, then he will supply all those things that the average person is struggling for everyday, food, shelter, and clothes.
The neat thing is that when you allow Jesus in your heart, He will not force Himself on you! You also enter a new family of fellow believers, black, brown, red, yellow, and white, all shapes and sizes. We all have one thing in common: we have chosen Jesus!
You may say I do not have to make a decision. I would say that making no decision is making a decision. There are only two choices: choose wisely and answer the door.
